The art of Jessica R. Shepherd.
Recontextualising botanical art through sound, publishing and painting.
Cosmic stuff here. I can really see the layers of foliage now as they go over and under the other branches. How much longer do you think?VV word was Pephoom, got to be done I think.....
Thanks mum, got quite a lot to do really.. lots to do on the flowers still and I have to make sure that is doe right because this assignment is all about the flowers! Whoopsy! - went overboard on the leaves again. Pephoom?! It has to be said as 'pee- foom'... rather than 'peep - whom' :)
Hello, Jessica...Your work here is lovely. I can't wait to see the recent progress on this piece and to follow your beautiful blog.
Thanks Rebecca... I have just visited your blog and it looks really interesting and beautiful. I have informed many of botanical art friends of its existence so I hope you get a flurry of readers :) Looking forward to more posts. I am almost finished now. This piece has taken me a very long time (compared to my other pieces). I think I have spent about 150 hours on it, maybe more! Eek...
Thank you so much, Jessica. Lovely to meet you and others with such a love for Botanicals.150 hrs? Wow! That is dedication and it certainly shows. The piece is beautiful..I've been layering color on the ivy and holly leaves today and the secondary veins have my eyes nearly crossing, even with the magnifying glass. ;)..
